Laurin Kelsey

Laurin Kelsey is a Production Designer based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Originally from Western Canada, Laurin began working in the film industry in 2001 before pursuing formal training in Set and Costume Design at the University of Victoria, where she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design. She later continued her studies at the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal in their Scenography (Set & Costume Design) Program.

Early in her career, Laurin worked on productions including Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Sanctuary, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and Stan Helsing.
From 2011 to 2014, Laurin lived and worked in Berlin, Germany, working as an Art Director on independent film and digital productions throughout Europe.

Since returning to Canada in 2014, Laurin has worked on more than 25 film and television productions and previously taught Theatre Design and Scenic Painting at both the University of Victoria and Vancouver Island University.
​
Laurin now works primarily as a Production Designer for film and television. Most recently, she served as Production Designer on the brand new Legally Blonde prequel Elle (Seasons 1 & 2) for Amazon MGM Studios and Hello Sunshine, premiering Summer 2026. Her additional Production Designer credits include Mike Flanagan’s Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher and The Midnight Club.

As an Art Director, Laurin’s recent credits include Stick for Apple TV+ and In the Blink of an Eye for Disney.

Laurin has been nominated for three Leo Awards and has received two Telly Awards for her work. Her production experience spans across North America, including projects filmed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City, Vancouver, and internationally in Europe.

Laurin is a Full Member of IATSE 891 in both the Art Department and Props, a Full Member of ACFC West Local 2020 in the same departments, and a member of the Associated Designers of Canada. Laurin is also a British citizen and is eligible to work in both Canada and the United Kingdom and is O1 Visa Eligible for work in the US.
